Xi'an - Days 5-6

On the fifth day will will arrive in Xi'an by plane from Beijing. Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, with a 6,000-year history, was known as Chang'an in ancient times.  For over 1,000 years the city has been capital for 13 dynasties, and a total of 73 emperors ruled here. With so much history within the ground the city lies upon, it's no wonder that there are so many historical ruins and, in the museums, cultural relics. Even before the lives of Christ, Mohammad, and Siddhartha, Xi'an was a world class city and already influencing the world abroad.

Once we arrive in Xi'an we will journey to the center of the city to the beautiful Royal Garden Hotel. That evening guest will have a chance to relax and stroll around one of the only two remaining cities that have intact surrounding walls.  Some guest can choose to ride bicycles around the city if they wish.  Xi'an is home to a Muslim Quarter that has a long row of delicious food vendors.  Most guest enjoy sampling the food and enjoying the culture that the Muslim quarter has to offer.  Xi'an is a fascinating city that fills in one more piece of the puzzle of mystery that is China.

On day six we will stop at the Small Wild Goose Pagoda on the way to view the Terra cotta Warriors. The Terra Cotta Warriors are one of the most amazing archaeological finds of the 20Th century.  In China, the Tera Cotta Warriors are a must see.  It has put Xian on the map for tourists. It was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. Guests will enjoy a 360 degree movie presentation about the warriors and then an in depth tour of the main pits and the museum.

That evening our quest will enjoy another relaxing night around the city to enjoy the many cafes, bars and restaurants that Xi'an has to offer.
