On day twelve our guests will take a train from Hangzhou to Shanghai. Upon arrival our guests will be transported to the Sofitel Highland Hotel. The Sofitel Hotel is a luxurious hotel located in the center of the most famous location in China: Nanjing Road. Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai and is one of the world's busiest shopping locations.
You will see everything from 10 cent meat sticks to Ferrraris being sold on Nanjing Road . Maybe you will want to buy a real Lious Vuitton hand bag or get one from a back street vendor. When you see Shanghai and China in Hollywood movies you are seeing the Sofitel Hotel and Nanjing Road. It is truly a spectacular view of lights and activity.
That evening our guest will enjoy a great feast at a Brazilian B.B.Q. Dozens of waiters come to your table offering delicious cuts of meat resting on long swords. Along with a wonderful salad bar and delicious desserts the event is enjoyed by all. After dinner our guest can freely travel about Shanghai. Since the Sofitel Hotel is in the best location our guests can feel very confident about roaming around one of the most exciting cities on Earth.
On the thirteenth day we will visit the Jade Buddha Temple. This magnificent temple is breathtaking. There is a supernatural feel about the grounds of the temple. It is hard to believe that it is in the center of a bustling city. The Jade Buddha itself is heavily protected and they request that no photos be taken.
After the temple our guests will visit the Shanghai Museum located adjacent to the People's Square. The museum possesses a collection of 120,000 precious works of art. Its rich and high-quality collection of ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy is specially celebrated in the world. Almost everything that you will view in the museum is absolutely priceless.
After we enjoy a nice lunch we will head to the opposite side of the river to view the Oriental Pearl Tower and the enormous Jin Mao Tower. These are two land marks that can been seen from every angle in downtown Shanghai. The Pearl Tower is a one of the greatest symbols of Shanghai.
About 100 meters away from the tower is the Shanghai Aquarium. There our guest will see some of the world's most exotic fish. The aquarium is Shanghai's newest, biggest, and best aquarium, and Asia's largest. Its state-of-the-art facilities boasts 28 exhibit areas for over 10,000 sea creatures from all continents: sharks, jellyfish, turtles, lionfish, sea otters, Yangzi sturgeon, and more. The centerpiece is the massive, sparkling $6.6-million glass-surround observation tunnel.
Keeping in the aquatic theme after a small rest at the Hotel our guest will enjoy a relaxing Dragon Boat Ride on the Huangpu River. This river is located on the famous Bund. The Bund in known for the 52 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. The Bund was the center of Shanghai's politics, economy and culture hundreds of years ago
On day fourteen our guest can gather their things together and get prepared for an afternoon departure. We will travel to Pudong International Airport by High Speed Magnetic train that can reach speeds up to 268 miles per hour. To build the train cost a whopping 1.33 Billion dollars. At the airport our guides will insure that you are properly checked in and ready to head back home. At this point we hope that all our guests have had a care free glimpse into the amazing mystery that is China.
