Chinese Language

All camp participants will be active in learning the Chinese language throughout the entire trip. By being in the native environment, as well as daily study sessions, all students that put in the work will come out with a firm understanding of how Chinese is spoken and used in it's native form.

Chinese calligraphy is an art with an illustrious tradition as old as the culture itself. For nearly two thousand years, the basic media, the major script variations, and the standards of excellence of the art have remained almost unchanged. Today, Chinese calligraphy is still considered an elegant art form even in neighboring countries such as Japan and Korea.

All students will learn some basic Chinese Calligraphy.  Each student will create their own Chinese name and learn how to properly write it.  Also, they will learn some valuable characters and their history.  Al in all is it just a fun activity for all who participate.  Some students may even prefer to go by their Chinese names for the remainder of their stay in China.

Traditional Chinese Characters

The Chinese language is one of the oldest still being used in the modern world today.
